A New Year Is Dawning!

Happy New Year! Remember Me! I’m sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve written . I am happy to say we have been BUSY! Still no excuse, I am terrible about taking the time to write. Please forgive me. With that said let me catch you up on what the Lord has been doing.
This past Christmas season brought extra blessings & an extra hectic schedule. The long awaited release of my New Christmas Album Comfort & Joy brought many exciting opportunities to perform some great NEW songs. We booked Christmas concerts primarily in my home region, It is hard to travel far from home during the holiday season because of all the many, many other things that have to be done running a family & home.
My oldest daughter Caitlyn who is now 18 started her first year of College she is studying to be a nurse. God was good to bless her with a full ride academic schlorship, I was so worried about the high cost of college, and how I would pay for it, we prayed a lot about it, and the Lord heard our petition! Hes so GOOD and always on time! She just finished her first semester and to our delight but not really surprise she made the presidents list. You probably figured out that I am proud of her. My two greatest accomplishments in life are my precious girls.
My youngest daughter Roni Jo who is now 13 is in the eighth grade. She is on the honor roll and president of the student council. She has such a giving heart. The Lord is using her in so many ways to touch the lives of others.
Looking back on 2007 we can say with certainty that the Lords hand has been on us. I am guilty at times of being ungreatful when His mercies are so apparently new every day. The new year brings us some interesting new challenges. I try to look at difficulties as an opportunity for spiritual growth. I am learning still to trust Him completely. Its so easy to sing praises when life is in a nice neat box not as easy when there is uncertainty about the future. Still I will praise Him! He is worthy! and never no never has he turned a deaf ear to my prayers.
My husband Joe and I want to thank all of you for your support of this ministry. Please remember to lift us up in prayer as we travel and seek Gods will and provision. We pray that as this new year is dawning dear father let it be, on Earth or else in heaven another year for thee.
God Bless you dear friends, Kateena

Ten Commandments Weekend

We just returned from the Ten commandment series in Washington D.C. and we had a wonderful time. Joe and I flew out two days early with Danny Shelton and some other friends so we had time to sight see. I had never been to D.C. before. The people are very friendly and the city is beautiful. We saw the White House, Arlington Cemetery, The Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. We did it all! We walked 50 miles but it was worth it! We even got some Tulip bulbs from the White House Lawn. We also visited the Smithsonian Institute, which is something I have wanted to do since eighth grade when a substitute teacher told me Dorothy's ruby slippers were there. My husband Joe and I had fun spending time with singer Darrell Marshall and concert pianist Kelly Mowrer. The Lord has blessed me with many wonderful friends. I will post new pictures very soon! We enjoyed all the gifted speakers at the rally and I am so blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing through 3ABN in these final days. I hope to see some of you at camp meeting May 24-27. Southern Illinois is beautiful this time of the year! Until He comes we will keep singing and following where He leads. What an Awesome God we serve!!!

Springtime is here again!

The winter days are sooo long! Im always thrilled to see the flowers and trees burst into bloom. I am reminded that our God never changes, His promises remain. We can claim them and stand on them. The God of Moses who parted the Red Sea is still God today, and in control of our lives if only we let Him be! Thank You Father that your mercies are new every morning.... BLESS YOUR HOLY NAME!

Hello Friends!

Hello Friends! I'm sorry its been so long since I've written. We have been very blessed to be busy traveling and singing for the Lord! God is soooo good!
My family and I (my two girls, 16 and 11, my husband Joe, my mom, brother, sister & their kids), 14 of us total, just returned from Disney World! I had never been! Southern Florida was beautiful with the temperature in the 80s, the sun shined for our entire visit and nobody fought (another answer to prayer).
I have been getting so many great e-mails (even an e-mail that told me to update my blog! thank you) and phone calls. I was interviewed on 3ABN a couple of weeks ago and ever since my phone has not stopped ringing. I have even had a couple of you sing to me over the phone, songs that you would like to hear me record in the future. I LOVE hearing from you and look forward to spending eternity with you!
During a lonley time in my life a few years ago I asked the Lord to send me friends and look what He has done! Sometimes we just have to be patient and wait on Him, but He always comes through with an even bigger dream than we had dreamed for ourselves. He sees the future and knows what you need, so be encouraged today. He is interested in the smallest detail of your life and He has plans to prosper you. My heart is overwhelmed with love for the Lord. I'm so undeserving and yet He is so good to me.

Thank you for all of your support, calls, E-mails and orders for C.Ds. You have been a blessing to us. We will see you under the tree of life if not before!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Winter has finally arrived! I am writing this morning from the warmth and comfort of my home that I share with my wonderful husband Joe and my two daughters . I am watching the first snow of the season gently fall to the ground. The lights twinkle on the Christmas tree and the gas fire place hums (heavenly). I feel very blessed and ashamed this morning. God is so good! There have been so many times, even recently, that I have complained and cried in that spoiled brat way that life isn't good enough. Forgive me Lord! We have so much to be thankful for, but sometimes my human nature gets the best of me! Our God is good all the time.
The one thing I am most thankful for this Christmas is the very reason for the season, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ and His forgiveness and saving grace. There has been much controversy this year over weather its Christmas or the Holidays, even the White House Christmas card this year does not use the word Christmas so as to not offend anyone's beliefs.
As you rush around and prepare for your Christmas celebration remember the only reason for the warm feelings of hope and goodness you feel at Christmas time is JESUS! I won't wish you Happy Holidays because Holi didnt die for me, JESUS CHRIST DID! So MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS and a blessed New Year !!!!!

Love,
Kateena

Happy November!

What a Beautiful fall we are enjoying here in Southern Illinois. The whether has been unusually sunny and warm for this time of year. I love the summer months and always dread to see it come to an end. As I was driving in my car today watching the colorful leaves blow across the road and sensing the change in the air, I was reminded of how our lives are very much the same as the changing of the seasons. Sometimes we are in the Spring time when life feels so new and exciting with a heart full of anticipation. At other times we are in the fall months when we don't feel that childlike excitement and Joy. At other times even Winter takes hold and life can seem to be frozen, cold and just stand still. But as I have grown in the Lord He has shown me that it is often in those cold winter times of life that we grow the most!. Sometimes He has to get us quiet to get our attention. I am grateful now for even the impending WINTER! I know that He is always there working in my life even when I don't see His hand at work. For everything there is a season and I know that Spring time always comes back around. Take a walk in nature and enjoy the fall colors knowing that our God has a wonderful plan for your life. He is ALWAYS there molding us to perfect His will in our lives! And it will all be revealed to us in His perfect timing!
